Online exhibitions of objects that are important in Australia's migration history.

The NSW Migration Heritage Centre has collated an online exhibition about post-World War Two migration to Australia. As well as a brief overview of Australia's migration history during the 19th and 20th centuries, the site contain oral histories of the migrant experience searchable by family name, cultural background, place of departure, date of arrival, or the accommodation that the arrivals were placed in. Both written and audio memories have been collected.

Questions and answers provided by the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, migration, immigration and multiculturalism, refugees and asylum seekers.

Between 1901 and 1983, thousands of unaccompanied young people, mainly from Britain, came or were sent to Australia as permanent settlers. The National Archives of Australia has extensive records of the migration policies of the period as well as records of the charity organisations involved in the scheme.

This publication is an overview of the migration and population history of Australia in the 20th century. The main sources are the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs.

A Place For The Friendless Female: Sydney's Female Immigration Depot 1848-1886 has an online exhibition depicting the voyage, arrival, depot and experiences of women who migrated to Sydney in the late nineteenth century.
